Pearl Fisher

In 2019, our team was on a roll, producing games at a record-breaking pace. It was during this exciting time that I spearheaded the development of another sea-themed slot game for Maverick, titled Pearl Fisher.

I wanted to push the boundaries of traditional sea-themed games, so I envisioned Pearl Fisher as a fun and quirky underwater adventure. I particularly enjoyed crafting the initial character sketches, which our talented 2D artist then brought to life with incredible detail and vibrancy. He also did a brilliant job designing the overall background and logo.

To further enhance the immersive experience, I proposed a unique concept for the background: one long, continuous vertical image that creates the illusion of diving deeper as the game’s features are triggered. This innovative approach, combined with the artist’s skillful execution, resulted in a truly captivating underwater world.

I also worked closely with our frontend developer to give the game a distinctive underwater feel. I had an idea where the whole game would feel like it was under the sea, represented by a subtle swaying motion throughout, simulating the gentle currents of the ocean.

To complement the visuals, I collaborated closely with our sound designer, guiding him in creating a playful soundscape that evokes the underwater ambiance. We experimented with various sound effects and musical elements to achieve the perfect balance of whimsy and immersion. The final result is a truly delightful auditory experience that enhances the game’s overall charm.

I did the content writing/storytelling for all our games. I leave you with the introduction excerpt I wrote for this game’s game sheet:
